Many of the software packages available on the market
for web editing have a feature called "publish" or
"publish-to-web." What this generally does is compile
all of the pages you designed, along with any necessary supporting files,
such as graphic files. It then uploads all of this work to wherever
your web site is located. While this sounds neat and convenient
and in many cases it is there are a few exceptions.
Generally, a publish-to-web feature will ask you a few
questions before the uploading begins. While the various programs may
be asking for the same information, each asks for it in a different
way and it is up to the user to know which information goes where.
This can be a very confusing thing for people not familiar with the
terms and specifications being requested. The basic information you
need to know is listed below. The program you choose will make it easy
for you to fill the information in where it is required.
For all programs and servers you will need to provide your
username and password.

that do not have domains: Remote Host: ftp.eticomm.net Base Directory: /public_html CGI Directory: /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin
