Certificate Installation Process
1. Activating secure socket layer (SSL) protection
for forms you would like to process from your web site requires
several steps. First, send e-mail to the Certificate Authority of
your choice, asking to generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
for your domain to ssl@eticomm.net.
The request must be mailed from your account with ETI and must include
the following information:
- Your company's legal name
- The contact, address, and phone number,
- Technical e-mail address for your company's representative.
This information should match the Registrant and Administrative
Contact information for the domain.
2. We generate the SSL key request, called a CSR and email
it to you. You will need this in step 6. below
3 . We will send the CSR to you via email.
4. Select a Certificate Authority and go to their site.
5. From the products page you will find there, select
the type of key you wish to purchase.
6. Register with the Certificate Authority and request
the key. During the process for getting the key the Certificate
Authority may provide you with a DUNS (reference number) which you
will need in order to get the key. The CA will also ask you for
the CSR (refer to step 2 above). Where it asks you to, copy the
full text of the CSR we sent you from the email into the CA's request
form. You will then be provided with a file "yourdomain.cer".
7. Send this file "yourdomain.cer" to ssl@eticomm.net
and your administrator will install the certificate to the server
for your site.
